Connaught Village Green
Unveiled by the Lord Mayor of Westminster in June 2025, the creation of Connaught Village Green transforms a previously underused section of public realm at the junction of Connaught Street, Kendal Street and Titchbourne Row into a welcoming space for residents and visitors to meet, rest, and recharge, boosting the area’s vibrant independent retail and hospitality offer.
Designed by DSDHA following an appointment by the Church Commissioners for England in partnership with Westminster City Council, the new public green space introduces new seating, free drinking water, cycle parking, and biodiversity-enhancing planting. Widened pavements improve accessibility and safety, while lush planters soften the streetscape, enhancing the pedestrian experience and strengthening the community heart of the historic Hyde Park Estate in London’s West End. The result of six years of local consultation, Connaught Village Green reinforces the Estate’s commitment to sustainable placemaking and community-focused design.
“This transformation is a meaningful investment in the people who live, work, and visit here. We’re proud to contribute to the continued vitality of Connaught Village”
Charlotte Moss, Head of London at the Church Commissioners
