Hales Street House / Studio

This new building provides an artist studio and home for a curator, structured around two courtyards. These provide private external space to compliment an existing larger public garden beyond. In an area that was blighted by post-war slum clearance and high-rise dwellings, the project aims to reinstate the massing of demolished buildings and restore the connection between Deptford's medieval High Street and a neighbouring housing block.
