How We Celebrate the Coronation: Designs for a New Reign
1/2Towards Spatial Justice
In celebration of the Coronation of King Charles III, The Royal Fine Art Commission Trust invited contributions to a publication that asks how we celebrate such an occasion. Inspired by an essay of the same name by Robert Byron in 1937, the wide range of invited authors were encouraged to create short, opinionated essays that inspire debate around the built environment.
Deborah Saunt celebrates a new reign that moves 'Towards Spatial Justice'. Her essay relates this moment of monarchic transformation to the collaborative processes of transforming the built environment. Co-design is a process that advocates equality and seeks transformations that inspire celebration for all.
